Nagojirao Patankar High School
Late Major Sardar Bhimrao Nagojirao Patankar recognized the severe need for educational facilities in post Independent India and the low literacy in the society at that time, and established the “Shri Bhimrao Nagojirao Patankar Trust”, a Public Charitable Trust on 12th January, 1955 by donating his residential house and property admeasuring 1 Acre in the heart of Kolhapur city, near Rankala, Kolhapur.
On that location, the “Nagojirao Patankar High School” was established in memory of his father Late Sardar Nagojirao Patankar. The school was established with its motto of Bahujan Hitay, Bahujan Sukhay (i.e. Welfare of the many, Happiness of the many), and even today embodies those principles, by striving to educate children from the poor and needy citizens, and to provide them with quality education and all-round development for the students.
The school is located approximately 200m from the Rankala Bus Stand, which is a major transport hub for the city, and serves citizens from Kolhapur and its outskirts. The students come primarily from the residential areas surrounding the school, as well as the rural areas towards Panhala.

The Bhimrao Nagojirao Patankar Trust is a Public Charitable Trust established under the Bombay Public Trusts Act, 1950 with registration number KE-97. The Trust has received its 80G and 12A certificates from the Income Tax Department, as well as the CSR1 Certificate from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
